Dolan Springs Community Trail Network  -  Repair and Restore  -  On the way to Hoover Dam
Under the leadership of Sue Baughman, the Dolan Springs Community Council built a network of community trails starting in 2009. VOAz & local volunteers and our ST240 trail machine will assist in repairs and realignments in the most damaged sections. We will do our best to facilitate ride-shares. Good food and some special prizes.
Dolan Springs is an unincorporated community in Mohave County, in North-West Arizona. The community was originally known as Lake Mohave Ranchos. Lots were being sold about 50 years ago. Before the development, it was known as the Bonelli Ranch. The White Hills and the Black Mountains were mined for silver and gold. The Hualapai Nation was known to have camps in the area.

Dolan Springs is at the gateway to the Lake Mead Recreation Area and Grand Canyon West (The Skywalk.) Within a 40 mile radius, are the wilderness areas of Mt. Wilson, Mt. Nutt, and Wabauma Peak. Additional hiking is located in the Cerbat Hills Recreation Area, Hualapai Mt. Park, and the Arizona Hot Springs.

Temperatures this time of year: Highs of 60-65F; Lows of around 40F. If you need camping equipment, VOAz has a few tents, bags and pads available to borrow, email to the Contact Person. Drive time from Tempe is close to four hours.

This winter and last year the rains have done considerable damage to the trails. The goals for this event are to build four realignments to get the trail onto a more sustainable grade and make improvements to drainage in other areas.

Be sure to indicate ETA when registering and drive to camp ground where someone will meet you and guide you to the work area.
